Making a Leather Knife Sheath

Video Description

In this video I will be making a pouch or taco style leather knife sheath. I start with directions on how to create a template for the sheath. Then we cut out all of the parts from 9 oz vegetable tanned leather including the welt and belt loop. The sheath is tooled in a basket weave pattern with and edge border. Then the parts are prepared, cleaned and glued together. Stitch grooves are cut and the stitch holes are marked. The holes are drilled, the sheath is sewn and edges burnished. Finallythe sheath is dyed and wet molded, oiled and waxed.
