About

Hi, I'm Jackie Schomburg Meynen, an abstract artist, creative wellness facilitator, and advocate for fearless self-expression. I am here to help you—especially if you've spent too long prioritizing others—rediscover your creative confidence, develop your artistic voice, let go of perfectionism, and trust your creative instincts. Through my Brave Art & Creative Wellness workshops, online courses, and YouTube content, I guide artists (and those who think they’re not artists) to play with materials, embrace curiosity, and nurture their inner child. My approach isn’t about creating ‘perfect’ art—it’s about unlocking creative freedom, finding joy in the process, and using art as a tool for self-care and confidence-building. I believe creativity should feel accessible, fun, and low-pressure. My goal is to give you permission to show up, make a mess, and discover what truly lights you up.

Video Description

In this video I demonstrate a simple way to create collage papers and then use the papers in a collage. I used black, white, and neutral brown collage papers, but you can use any colors you choose for this exercise, the important part is to experiment with putting different patterns, colors, and textures together. This creative practice will help you get out of your head so you can simply play. This results in unexpected compositions and it's FUN! This exercise can be used on its own as a collage warm up, a way to try out new combinations of colors/patterns, as an art journal page, and/or as a mixed media painting starter. Materials used: sketchbook (https://amzn.to/3PH0Dzc), collage paper, scrap paper, and/or old paintings torn or cut into pieces. ****If you've enjoyed this video, please consider subscribing to this channel to help the algorithm like me so my videos can reach more people.**** Comments, likes, questions, and shares are always appreciated!
