Hello. I'm Christopher Banks and I’m the same age as my favourite records, most of which were made in the late 1970s. At school, I was taken with the crazy idea I might make a living out of music, so I left school early and (with Michael Lloyd) formed and produced the dance-pop group Deep Obsession in 1997, who remain the only New Zealand group to score three consecutive #1 singles. I also wrote and produced a string of further top 40 hits or remixes for other artists. You'll find some of the material from that period on this channel. You'll also find material from my solo album, 'Anxious Attachment', co-produced with Michael Lloyd, which features the talents of legendary session musicians Leland Sklar (Phil Collins, James Taylor) and Mike Garson (David Bowie). It’s a throwback to the piano-led, melodic rock songs of my childhood, and perhaps yours (or maybe your parents’ if you haven’t had your mid-life crisis yet).
