Anatomically, these longer yin holds allow our fascia - the connective tissue that envelops our muscles, tendons, and organs - to reorganize into ways that allow for greater flexibility and range of motion. Fascia that is not worked and moved is often the tissue that makes us feel tight - not the muscle. As we melt into these yin poses calmly, your fascia will release pent-up tension, while our nervous system relaxes simultaneously.
