The Miss Universe organization is providing an update on Miss Jamaica Dr. Gabrielle Henry weeks after she fell off the stage during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown competition round. On Monday, Dec. 8, Miss Universe released a joint statement with Dr. Henry’s family, revealing that her “serious fall” resulted in “an intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and other significant injuries.” The organization went on to note that Dr. Henry was “immediately admitted to intensive care in Bangkok where she remained in critical condition under constant neurological monitoring and continues to require 24-hour specialist supervision.” Dr. Henry will return to Jamaica in the next few days alongside a “full medical escort team” and will be transferred to a local hospital, the release added.
