"#losttechnology #comparison #gaming Comparing NEW games (2020 - Present, essentially 9th generation) to OLD games (1996 to 2018) with focus on disappearing or forgotten "technology." Technology encompasses the tools, trick and techniques used to create experiences and immersion in video games. I drew parallels to NASA's Don Pettit's "lost technology." None of it is truly lost, just not used anymore for whatever reason. Is it really worth to focus your entire attention on an empty open world or overreliance on visuals while neglecting so many older yet superior techs like AI, destruction, and environmental interactions that made games so much more fun and detailed?
