It Translate private IP address into Public IP address. • In order to communicate with internet we need to have Public IP address. • So one host need to have 1 Public IP address. That mean If I have 15 devices and want to go to internet same time then I need to take 15 public IP address from ISP it is very expensive if I do this. • To over come with this issues we use NAT. • Because NAT is going to take private IP and Translate to Public IP address. We have 3 Type of NAT. 1. Static NAT 2. Dynamic NAT 3. PAT (Dynamic NAT Overload) Static NAT: In Static NAT one to one mapping done between local and global address. That mean I need 1 Public IP to 1 host. Dynamic NAT: It is used when you have a pool of public IP addresses that you want to assign to your internal hosts dynamically.
