So here’s the situation: a sidewalk in Dong Hoi city, Vietnam, that no one remembers existing. Not because it was demolished or removed, but because for the past six years, it has been buried under thick, tangled overgrowth. Dense, fibrous weeds that have spent years establishing themselves as permanent infrastructure, creeping into cracks, lifting pavement, and making sure that if anyone did try to walk here, they’d either trip, step into the street, or just give up entirely. Clean up Mowing team, a group of incredibly determined individuals, despite having only basic tools and zero government funding, decided they weren’t going to let a kilometer of public walkway disappear into the jungle. Over the next ten days, they hacked, trimmed, scraped, and pulled, sometimes with machines, mostly by hand, removing not just the obvious surface growth but also the deep-rooted weeds that had embedded themselves into the structure of the pavement itself.
