Hi Friends, my name is Callum aka wanderloots. In today's video, I share my workflow on how to take effortless book notes in Obsidian 📚 Taking notes while reading can introduce friction (+ other blocks), stopping you from reading in the first place. This workflow aims to overcome these blocks so you can read & remember more ✨ UPDATE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYWCBwqqNxg Reading can change your worldview, giving you perspectives across space & time. We often highlight or write down quotes that resonate with us... but for most people, that's where active reading ends. We've captured the what (quote) but not the why (note). By taking reading notes along with your quotes, you can remember WHY the quotes resonated, which helps you retain and remember the quote for longer. The goal is to keep your quotes & notes contextualized, and Obsidian provides an excellent way to do so. Today's workflow shows you how to: 1) set up templates for reading & highlighting notes 2) connect your e-reader for automatic highlight imports 3) linking your quotes & notes with an aim of long term learning & original thinking Be more intentional with your reading and stay in a flow for longer 📚 This system is also compatible with my Obsidian Books Base: https://youtu.be/Ww3uJCsFuSs You can use your Books Base to automatically organize your book notes, extract key quotes, and build your personal Obsidian Library.
