We just landed in Kuala Lumpur and this is our very first time in the country so we figured we would take you along and give you our first impressions of Malaysia. Our goal is to see and do as much as possible for our 48hrs in Kuala Lumpur. Book hotels where we stayed and activities at for the best price. https://www.davemani.com/hotel-booking But just like any other day, ours started with a very interesting breakfast spot a favorite amongst locals here in Kuala Lumpur. We visited the nicest local man who is serving the best Kaya buns we have ever had in addition to very good coffee. He operates a small stall in an alley in Chinatown which is called Wong Mee Coffee Stall and it is a must try! This is also where we me this very welcoming local who showed us the best pancakes around. From there we drove our little red scooter to the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur. This colorful temple is called Sri Mahamariamman, is also located just outside the Chinatown and is free to visit. In the middle of the day, Kuala Lumpur the capital city of Malaysia gets VERY warm. So we decided to go visit the Pavilion shopping district located in Bukit Bintang. This area has many different malls, restaurant, entertainment offerings and more and is perfect for anyone looking for shopping opportunity or air conditioning. For the foodies out there, Kuala Lumpur also referred as KL by locals is a real food paradise. We started our exploration with Jalan Alor Food Street serving all kinds of street food from Malaysian to Indian and from BBQ skewers to fresh fruit smoothies. The Jalan Alor Night Market operates every evening and make sure to visit while hungry. For our second market we drove to the Chinatown on Petaling Street to eat some more street food. This is also the place to find all the designer shows, sunglasses, bags, watches and all. The next morning, we woke up early to beat the heat and visited the famous Batu Caves. This incredible holy site is a most see while in Malaysia but please, be on your best behaviour. To end our first 48hrs in Malaysia we went for a tour inside the internationally known Petronas Twin Towers for some incredible views of Kuala Lumpur at night. Make sure to also watch the Symphony Lake Water show just in front of the Petronas Towers which is completely free.
