It’s one of those “better to have it and not need it” situations. Moreover this “general physical preparedness” (GPP) will ensure you perform well at any other task. It will give you the conditioning to thrive in sports and competitions and the resilience to avoid injury in day-to-day life. Ultimately, this physical capability gives you more options to live life on your terms. In this video, then, I have outlined some basic exercises that translate directly to GPP and preparedness. These are exercises that will help you to play sports, get out of danger, run around with your kids, perform physical labour, avoid injury, age gracefully, and have plenty of energy for whatever else you need to do. If you can meet these criteria, you can consider yourself to be physically ready for (almost) any task. You’ll have the strength, work capacity, grit, grip strength, core strength, and more. If you can’t meet these criteria, then you’ll have something fun to work towards and a framework for getting there. How did you perform?
