Bonjour friends, How have you been? I've been a bit busy so it's been quite some time since I posted in here. I missed you all. This time I share with you quite a long video (I hope not too long)about the preparations for Christmas. I made some cinnamon ornaments for the house and went to forage in the forest to make big Christmas bouquets. I also baked a traditional Alsatian Kouglof and made creamy hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream for a cosy afternoon break with my sister. I wish you a wonderful day. ❤️🏡🌧️ For the cinnamon ornaments 🌟🎄 180g Cinnamon About 300g Apple sauce 2 Tablespoons of ground cloves (optional) 1. In a big bowl mix together all the spices of your choice. 2. Add the apple sauce progressively, the original recipe calls for 200 grams of apple sauce but I had to use way more for my ornaments. I think it's going to depend on the consistency of your apple sauce. 3. Mix the dough with your hands, it should be elastic and easy to work with. 4. Spread the dough with a rolling pin, and let your creativity speak. ✨🤗 5. Let them air dry or bake them at 100°C until they're hard, I flip them halfway through to be sure they dried everywhere. It took about one hour. My great grandma Kouglof recipe 🍞🎄🤶🏻 100g Raisins 500g Flour A pinch of salt 60g Sugar 2 Eggs 25g Fresh yeast 150ml Milk 100g Unsalted butter 30g Almonds 1. Soak the raisins overnight or for a few hours. 2. Mix the fresh yeast with a little bit of the milk to make it easier to mix later. 3. Warm the milk and mix it with the diced butter and let it melt gently. The milk has to be just warm, but not too hot to avoid killing the yeast. 4 .In a big bowl or in the bowl of your kitchen robot, mix together the flour, salt and salt. 5. Add the two eggs, and mix gently and the yeast and mix again. 6. Add the milk an butter and work your dough until it forms a sticky ball. 7. Add the raisins and work the dough again. The Kouglof dough is naturally a bit sticky but it should not stick to the bowl. 8. Let the dough rest in a warm place for about 1 and a half hours; it should double in size. 9. Put a good amount of butter on your mold and add an almond on each humps. 10. Once the dough is ready, put it on a floured surface and form a ball; the ugly side should be placed on top and the smooth surface on the bottom. Form a hole in the middle of your ball and put it gently in your mould. The chimney of your mold should not be completely recovered. 11. Let it rest for about 45 minutes more, or until the dough is two centimeters from the edge of your mould. 12. Bake at 180°C for about 45 minutes. 13. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and eat warm; it's the best. Hope you will enjoy; it's very long the recipe so feel free to ask if I'm not clear enough and if you have questions. 🤗🌟🎄 For the hot chocolate ☕️🍫🎄 500 ml Whole milk 125g 74% Chocolate 2 Tablespoons of maple syrup 1 Teaspoon of cinnamon 200 ml 30% Heavy cream 25g Powdered sugar 1. Warm the milk in a pan ( you can infuse vanilla with it if you want). 2. Add the chocolate to the warm milk. Let it melt gently. 3. On low heat, cook the hot chocolate; you can add maple syrup and cinnamon, depending on your taste. 4. Cook until it has the consistency you like, the more you cook it the thicker and creamy it will be. 5. Mix together the heavy cream and powdered sugar with your stand mixer on medium speed until firm. Serve on top of the hot chocolate. 5.
