Restoring a 130-Year-Old Stanley Block Plane | This Stanley No. 9 1/2 Is Back to Work

A friend of mine gave me this old Stanley block plane, and after a little digging, I found out it was likely made around 1890—over 130 years ago! In this video, I’m giving it a light restoration to bring it back to working condition. No full-on museum polish—just cleaning it up, sharpening the blade, and tuning it so it can get back to work in the shop. It’s amazing how well these old tools were built, and with a little care, they can still perform just as well—if not better—than many modern versions.
