Royal Albatross ~ Ranger Colin Weighs The Chicks! TF Is So Cute Peeking Out From The Bag! 💕 2.20.24

Ranger Colin stops by the nests on his rounds today to weigh all the chicks in the colony! Up first is our Royalcam chick TF to be put in the extra big white bag :) Looks like TF has grown considerably from last week! When Colin puts TF in the bag, TF is playing peek a boo with LGK with its head peeking out of the bag! That is just so cute! TF is a definite handful of fluff! Then Colin weighs TFT chick - unfortunately his back was towards the cam and we couldn't get a good look at TFT chick. TF is 27 days old and is inching closer to the post guard stage when the parents will leave their chick alone and unguarded for periods of time. TF came in weighing 2.3kg (5 lbs). TFT (WYL & BOK's chick) is 19 days old and weighs 1.4kg (3 lbs) and both chicks are at a good weight! The heaviest chick in the colony came in at 2.9kg!! Sharyn said that there will be a health check up on all the chicks in the colony on Thursday by the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital.
