Video Description

►WHAT IS THIS This video is the ultimate guide for how to make a slayer exciter scaled for both beginners and experienced electrical hobbyist. Although I made a Slayer Exciter Tesla Coil in the past, there is still much to talk about. In this video, I will cover the schematic, physics, DIY build, testing, and demonstration of this circuit. Hopefully it will answer many questions you have about it. If not, at least it is visually pleasing. ►TIMESTAMPS 1:05 - Schematic & Physics 4:03 - DIY Build 7:38 - Testing 9:50 - Demonstration ►MATERIALS 10AWG Wire Roll 26 to 32AWG Wire Spool Power Supply/ Battery (9V to 30V) TIP31C NPN Transistor (Several) 47000 Ohm Resistor ►EXTERNAL LINKS Here are some other Slayer Exciter videos that I think did a good job: ElectroBoom's Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzSoabcQYMg GreatScott!'s Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbTyEratSTI Power Max's Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPHHvVTVbwM&t=315s ►FAQ Q: What power did you operate at? A: In normal operation, it drew about 2.5 amps at 15 volts. It is roughly linear as voltage is changed. Q: Can I use a ___ transistor? A: Check the datasheet online if one exist. If you are still not sure or are unfamiliar with reading datasheets, ask me and I'll try to help. Q: How many turns on the secondary? A: I used about 1500-1800. I suggest a minimum of 800 and a maximum of 2000. Q: Not Working. Help Plz! A: First, that's not a question. Second, do I look like some sort of psychic? I promise that this circuit works. In general, you may want to troubleshoot these: * Make sure that there is electrical contact between wires. * Check transistor datasheet for the pins. (base to sec., collector to pri., emitter to ground) *Make sure that the pri. and sec. coils wind in the same direction or else flip one. ►CREDITS Narrator: Dayton Aardema, EE Editor: Dayton Aardema Music: Cody Aardema - New Blueprint Theme Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round Sounds: Tim Kahn - Boo & Hiss (freesound, org) Taira Komori - Motor Sound Nebyoolae - Gear Clank Star Wars III - UNLIMITED POWER! #Blueprint #TeslaCoil
