Staying yellow since 2015. :D Back in 2015, I began to produce videos on what interested “me”. What began as an occasional hobby turned into a passion as I realized that there is always something new to learn, or when given the opportunity to teach and/or help others each and every day. Originally, I was focused on video games and movies and took them at face value which is what we should be able to do at times; sit back, relax, enjoy and turn off the thought process, (if we are ever truly able to do so). Eventually my interest and research in psychology, philosophy and their effect on the world and, in this case, specifically the area of entertainment, led me to further research. More recently, I have been drawn to the important topics of mental health and autism. Never has there been a more important time for us to be informed, raise awareness and support one another throughout the various challenges we are faced with in life.

Spec Ops: The Line is heavily influenced by a pre-existing classic novella titled “Heart of Darkness”, which is arguably the most analyzed piece of literature in history. I decided that what I would do is analyze Heart of Darkness and its two most popular adaptations: Apocalypse Now and, of course, Spec Ops: The Line. However, while I am analyzing the individual stories in each of the three cases, I am moreso analyzing the quote-unquote “Heart of Darkness” as a motif; as something that actually exists. In my opinion, the Heart of Darkness manifests in real life, as well as in these three forms of fiction... as a location, a thing to obtain, and a state of mind. It might be useful to watch my previous video where I analyze the Heart of Darkness novella, so you can have some useful context for this video, but that isn’t necessary.
