In this video photographer Gavin Hoey show how continuous LED lighting lets natural light photographers bring their existing skills indoors, without slowing down the creative flow. Modern LEDs are smaller, lighter, brighter, and often battery powered. Plus, because the light is always on, what you see is exactly what you get. Gavin starts by covering a few simple “set and forget” camera settings that help avoid common exposure mistakes, including using exposure simulation on mirrorless cameras and setting your screen brightness correctly for inside work. From there he shows how the tools you already use on location (like a 5-in-1 reflector) translate perfectly to the studio. For example, how the inner diffuser is used to soften the harder shadows from a bare LED, creating a more flattering, natural portraits. Finally, Gavin demonstrates why working with continuous light in a studio can actually feel more creative, not less.
