The amazing 386 InBoard for PCs and XTs

If you've never heard of it before, it's a card with a 386 CPU and 1MB 32-bit RAM on it that plugs in to your original PC or XT (yes, the machine that has a 4.77 MHz CPU and an 8-bit data bus). The box you're seeing on this video came out in 1990 and has never been opened. Despite obviously being in a smokers house and looking like it had a little water damage, the contents were absolutely tickety-boo. So, I break the 35-year seal and slot it into an original IBM PC/XT (5160). I also benchmarked it against the following systems: * The original IBM 5160/XT (with a sub 4.77 MHz CPU - the NEC V20) * An XT with a 286 upgrade card (80286 at 8MHz) in the IBM 5160/XT * An IBM 5162 286 system that has a 486 CPU upgrade in it (still runs around 13MHz). The CPU on the card is a 16 MHz 80386DX. Whilst it has 1MB on the card, you can add another piggy-back daughtercard of either 2MB or 4MB RAM. Because you can never have enough RAM (right, Bill?), I have tracked down a gentleman called Harrison Frazier on VCForums. He makes clone memory daughtercards for the InBoard/386 which he calls 'ParrotyRAM' (parroty, gettit?). Anyways, I have ordered one of them and he's already shipping it to me to play with. I'll release another video reviewing that when I get it. In the video, I go through the various pros and cons of making a 32-bit system-on-a-board work on a 16-bit system, with an 8-bit data bus! And yes, okay, okay, I spent far more money than I should have on this thing, but I've wanted one for ages, and so for my birthday, I decided to splurge big time when I saw it come up on eBay.
