Catherine is a game about a man named Vincent struggling with choosing between his long time girlfriend, Katherine, and young woman he met at a bar, Catherine. The game explores themes of maturity and growing up through Vincent’s interactions through the day, and nightmares when he sleeps. In the end, the game allows the player to choose whether they want to be with Katherine or Catherine. In this video essay I give my opinion on which of the routes is better and why, and try to explain the game’s themes and what message it has for the player.
