Video Description
Eccentric daimyo Oda Nobunaga stormed 16th-century Japan with muskets, market reforms and ruthless audacity. He smashed rival clans and warrior-monks, seized Kyoto in 1568 and, by 1582, held half the archipelago—unification seemed a breath away. But humiliated vassal Akechi Mitsuhide betrayed him: Honnō-ji Temple was surrounded, and Nobunaga chose seppuku while his African retainer Yasuke fought on. Hideyoshi’s lightning revenge toppled Mitsuhide and finished the conquest, sealing Nobunaga’s legacy as Japan’s great game-changer.
