The Lord of the Rings actors Andy Serkis, Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, and John Rhys-Davies gave a panel at C2E2 2025 to talk about the films, their experiences, and to answer fan questions. Andy Serkis was Gollum / Smeagol in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit and is also known for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker. He is also known for Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, War for the Planet of the Apes, Andor, The Batman, The Sandman, and many more. Elijah Wood portrayed Frodo Baggins, a Hobbit, in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and is also known for his roles in Deep Impact, Back to the Future Part II, Flipper, The Faculty, Spy Kids 3: Game Over, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sin City, Happy Feet, Bookworm, Yellowjackets, and many more. Sean Astin was Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and is also known for The Goonies, Rudy, Alphas, Stranger Things, 24, The Strain, Encino Man, and many more. Dominic Monaghan was Merry in The Lord of the Rings and is also known for his roles in Lost, Moonhaven, Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, Flashforward, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Angry Birds: Mystery Island, Last Looks, Bite Club, and more. Billy Boyd played Pippin in The Lord of the Rings but is also known for his roles in Seed of Chucky, Doom Patrol, The Witches of Oz, Space Milkshake, Chucky, The Sandman, The Wingfeather Saga, Empty, Taggart, and more. John Rhys-Davies portrayed Gimli in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Sallah in Raiders of the Lost Ark and two of the sequels. He is also well known for Sliders, The Gates, Revelations, You Wish, Gargoyles, Robots in the Family, Under Cover, War and Remembrance, Robin Hood, The Quest, Great Expectations, I Claudius, Trial of the Incredible Hulk, Crossroads, and many more.
