Surveillance revealed 22 foreign suspects of various nationalities tied to the jackpotting spree, but most of them fled the country quickly. One remained — Andrejs Peregudovs, a Latvian money mule tasked with moving millions in cash. From a luxury hotel to short-term rentals, his trail led to stakeouts, raids, and near-misses — with the police always just a step behind. CCTV footage also traced some of the stolen stash to locations like public lockers at Taipei Main Station. Against the odds, Taiwan’s investigators trace the attack to the notorious Cobalt Group, an international syndicate already storming Europe’s banks. Meanwhile, the police narrows in on Andrejs as he flees Taipei to the neighbouring county of Yilan.
