The destiny community was set to take on the Final Shapes raid Salvations Edge and this one was special. With the Final Shape, the Destiny community had to truly race to get ready for the raid as there were only 3 days to prepare and within those three days, 1 of them had some severe server issues. The DLC had plenty of wild moments in the first two weeks since its launch, but the newest raid and the Day 1 race has definitely been the craziest part of the Final Shape so far. This was the longest Day 1 raid race in Destiny history, even beating out the infamous Last Wish, and the raid was so difficult that only one team managed to beat it within 24 hours. The race itself was tense, nerve-wracking…and an absolute blast to watch. My good friend and housemate cb gray and I were lucky enough to host one of the most riotous RaidZones that we’ve ever experienced, even if we were completely dead by the end of it. Over 2 million of you total tuned in and on my end, almost 47k people were watching live.. So from the bottom of my heart thank you and I look forward to pushing the envelope for creator events even further. The story of this race has twists and turns. Guardians across the world sat down in their tens of thousands to watch the best raiders that this game has produced over ten years attempt to clear the most difficult raid that Bungie’s ever made. Heavyweight champions duked it out, some formed super teams, and others kept their runs to a more private viewing experience. The stakes were high, the emotions were higher, and it was clear for all to see that this raid was the true pinnacle of challenge.
