The key is to find the approach that works for each of us and our own individual passions. When we do, then the more we give, the more we stand to gain purpose, meaning and happiness — all of the things that we look for in life, but are so hard to find. And so the purpose of life is to be useful, to be honourable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well. And the happiness will flow from there.
