I never imagined life would lead me to a love like this. Like many couples I’ve had the honor to film, I’d nearly given up on love, until I learned firsthand what so many brides and grooms had told me: true love finds you when you’re least expecting it. Two and a half years ago, I traveled to Kent, England, to capture the love story of Anita and Colm. I still remember that day vividly! It was a blend of laughter, heartfelt moments, and unexpected connections. I met her there, as she stepped out to help me park my car. Nikki, the bride’s sister. Little did I know that, just like the stories I so often filmed, a new chapter of my own life had quietly begun. It’s a rare privilege to meet the love of your life in such a setting. Even rarer is the privilege of interviewing her as part of your job, getting to know her heart through the lens of her own family’s words. You can catch a glimpse of her interview in this video. Through every shared memory, I was learning who Nikki was on the deepest levels before we’d even begun dating. Love is a story that reveals itself slowly, yet, when it does, it’s undeniable. Our civil ceremony was captured by my two groomsmen, Raj and Vishnu and edited lovingly by Purav, who knows my story as well as I know the ones I film. It’s the most special memory of all, this video, captured by trusted friends, of a simple afternoon in London that somehow managed to hold a lifetime within it. In this video, you’ll see what I felt that day: a love that waited impatiently, until it found the right moment to step into the light.
