After years of downsizing and living abroad, they settled into a tiny house community in Oregon to pursue a simpler lifestyle near the ocean. Key Features of This Tiny House Design This home was built by Big Bliss Tiny Homes with several specific requirements in mind, including a first-floor bedroom and plenty of natural light. Modern Kitchen: Featuring Ikea cabinets, a two-burner gas stove, a large fridge, and a versatile convection toaster oven that air fries and dehydrates. They also used Thinscape countertops for durability and heat resistance. Smart Storage Solutions: A custom-built mudroom hides coats and shoes, while a deep pantry provides space for food and even bathroom essentials like hair tools. Main Floor Bedroom: A rare find in tiny homes, this room features a Murphy bed that allows the space to double as a massage or Reiki studio during the day. Heated Floors: To stay warm in the Oregon climate, the couple installed Gold Heat heated flooring throughout the main level. Open Concept Living: High ceilings, floating stairs, and a large skylight in the loft ensure the home feels spacious. Bathroom Amenities: A full shower with a built-in bench, a sleek easy-to-clean toilet, and an on-demand propane water heater. Sustainable and Minimalist Living Sue and Michelle emphasize that living tiny is about more than just a smaller footprint; it is about intentionality. By choosing to downsize, they have limited their spending and focused on items that serve a dual purpose.
