From forgetting all kinds of important gear to running out of batteries at the penultimate moment. It's a total cluster. Landscape photography is fraught with complications but I'm my own worst enemy. Luckily, I did have my phone with me and was able to capture something at least. Roy has plenty of opinions regarding my conduct and he even offers up some compositional insights. The Scottish Highlands is like a treasure trove for landscape photographers and I'm a sucker for castles, so I picked this really old one. While I wait for the tide I'm enchanted by a nearby forest but the midges are seeking our fluids and I make a hasty retreat. Mum and Amanda bail due to the sky vampires but Roy and I stick it out while shooting an Olde-worlde bridge made of stone. Can Amanda be trusted with my secret or will she blab to Roy. Will I ever try photographing Roy's composition and what does this castle look like when it's not pouring? There's really only one way to find out.
