Traveling from Agra to Jaipur By Train (First Class Indian Train Ride)

We are on a six hour train ride from Agra to Jaipur today! This is the first train we have taken where we are in the lie-down beds in a first class cabin, and we had a few hiccups along the way. We won't spoil it here, but let's just say the ride didn't start quite how we had expected. However, having the privacy of our own carriage made the ride so comfortable, and when it was over we could hardly believe it had been six hours! We treated ourselves to these first class tickets not knowing if we would get a cabin to ourselves and were pretty excited when we realized we would have our own cabin all the way from Agra to Jaipur, India. Agra and Jaipur are both part of what is known as the "Golden Triangle" In India, which includes Agra, Jaipur, and Delhi. These three cities are the most common tourist destinations because they offer different attractions, but also because of their proximity to one another. They are quite close to one another (by India standards - don't forget India is a very big country!) and are easily accessible via train rides in India. After arriving in Jaipur we enjoyed a typical Indian lunch (a thali set) before finding a tuktuk to take us to our air bnb for the night. Our air bnb turned out to be really wonderful and we enjoyed a very large, spacious, and clean room during our time in Jaipur! If you are a foreigner visiting India for the first time like we are, taking the trains is a great way to get around! They have to be booked quite a while in advance (something that we are not very good at), but they are very efficient and can be cost effective (although they can also be quite expensive depending on your situation). If you are traveling in India, you are very likely going to be taking a train in India at some point! This train ride from Agra to Jaipur is a great route to take and if you are taking the train the opposite way (from Jaipur to Agra) you will likely have a very similar experience.
