The fishing net recycling company works to combat the fatal effects that fishing net waste, or ‘ghost gear,’ has on marine life. Discarded nets, lines, ropes, or otherwise abandoned fishing gear make up at least 10% of marine litter. To date, Bureo has collected 2.6 million pounds of discarded fishing nets.
