I've used Synology NAS units for years and years. Last year, I got a UGREEN NASync DXP4800 (sent to me by Ugreen), and it's a very similar unit in terms of size and functionality... however the hardware is far more powerful. So, the question is this: Is the Synology software good enough to get you to buy a lower-spec unit? At this point, the Ugreen UGOS software has improved to the point where I think it should meet most peoples' needs. Synology certainly still has an edge in this department, but it's getting closer.
