US Gaza food aid airdrop dismissed by protesters: “Dropping some food, dropping the bombs”

According to American officials, the U.S. military carried out its first airdrop of humanitarian aid into Gaza on Saturday, as aid agencies warned of a growing humanitarian disaster in the Palestinian enclave. Some displaced Gazans said that the airdropped aid is not enough, calling for the opening of the Egyptian border for aid trucks and saying that the U.S. “is trying to buy (our silence) by sending us aid.” Outside of the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C., protesters demanding a ceasefire in Gaza dismissed the U.S. airdrop of humanitarian aid and said that the Biden administration should stop supplying military weapons to Israel. “We're dropping some food and we're dropping the bombs, and the tanks and the bullets and everything else at the same time. That's what he's [Biden] got to do. Stop sending the money and the weapons,” protester Kathy Boylan said.
