Video Description
In this video I set out to create steel, using a traditional technique as old as the iron age. This technique is called 'Oroshigane,' and produces a steel that is very similar to that of Japanese Sword steel, tamahagane. We then forge this homemade steel into a beautiful Japanese chef knife; will it work? Thanks so much for watching, I would like to give a huge thank you to Emiliano Carrillo for all of the help in learning how to perform a iron melt like this. As always, go make something cool, God bless - Ian Z :)
