About

Welcome to one of YouTube’s top destinations for compelling and in-depth military aviation history content. While we are proud to cover the full scope of Australian military aviation — including the RAAF, Army Aviation Corps, and Fleet Air Arm — much of our content covers aircraft, operations, and air power development from around the world. Our videos regularly feature American, British, Russian, Chinese, and many smaller nations. We also explore both world wars, the Cold War, Vietnam, and beyond. Our content covers aircraft development, combat tactics, air campaigns, veteran interviews, museums, and other topics revolving around air power.

Video Description

In our previous videos, we have looked at several experimental US aircraft pushing aeronautical limits, but never saw service. The F-15 STOL MTD, the F-16XL, and the F-18 HARV to name a few. But there is one experimental aircraft that stands out above all the others for its cutting-edge design. The Northrop YF-23 was in the competition, head-to-head with the demonstrator version of the F-22, and the Northrop/McDonnell Douglas team came up with a very impressive aircraft.
