Today we look at the character of Eöl The Dark Elf from the works of Tolkien and delve into his life and just why he gained his nickname! We look at his origins as one of the Teleri and Sindar, and as the kin of Elu Thingol, through his leaving Beleriand after the raising the Girdle of Malian and making his home in Nan Elmoth. Also, we consider his unique skill as a smith, how he came to marry Aredhel, and their son Maeglin.
