Why did I Put a Wheel on My Snowmobile?

This week on Off-Grid Engineering, I try something a little different… I put a wheel on the front of a snowmobile to see if I can turn it into a land machine during the shoulder season. With the trails half mud, half snow, and almost impossible to access, I needed a way to reach the cabin and keep the winter build moving. In this episode, I walk through the whole process—designing the mount, figuring out the geometry, drilling the options, testing the setup, breaking a wheel (of course), and pushing this machine deeper into the bush. If you’ve ever wondered how far you can bend a snowmobile’s design before it snaps back… you’re in the right place. We haul in the big front-gable window, the cabin front door, and more supplies as we make another push toward finishing the cabin before the deep freeze.
