On its west coast, over 20 million Taiwanese make their home in vast urbanized areas that dominate the landscape. But on its east coast? It's mostly empty aside from a couple small cities and scattered towns. So why don't more Taiwanese live on its east coast? In this video, we'll dive into the rugged and awe-inspiring geography of Taiwan, its history as a country and how it came to be, and, of course, the answer to why Taiwan's population is mostly focused on its west coast.
