It’s a slightly updated, range-topping edition of Audi’s largest SUV, and Mat’s about to see what’s changed over the regular RSQ8. What’s more, he will also see how it compares to a car which borrows a lot from this Audi - the Lamborghini Urus! Regarding the RSQ8’s design, the Performance edition still looks remarkably similar to the regular RSQ8, with a few key styling changes. Up front, there’s a new grille as well as larger, lower air intakes. There’s a new headlight design, too, with Matrix LEDs now coming in as standard. Along the side you’ll find new alloy wheel designs, and at the back, there’s a new full-length lightbar, as well as updated taillights, a new bumper, and the redesigned, flat Audi badge. On the inside, the similarities with the regular RSQ8 continue. It comes with the same infotainment system and digital dials, and the look and feel is all pretty much the same - although that’s not exactly a bad thing! The car is still super luxurious and comfortable to be in. There are a few minor changes, though, with the top one being the option to now have Alcantara on the steering wheel! Both the Audi and the Urus come with the same 4-litre twin-turbo V8. In the RSQ8 Performance, the power output is increased to 640hp and 850Nm, with power being sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It’s the same set-up in the Urus, although of course, the power output is increased slightly to 666hp. So, both these cars are very closely matched, but the question is, do you really need to spend almost double the amount to choose an Urus?! Or should you settle for the RSQ8 Performance?
