О книге "Мысли Иммануила Канта, выбранные Л. Н. Толстым" рассказывает научный редактор издания Алексей Николаевич Круглов (доктор философских наук, профессор РГГУ). Аннотация книги: Книга "Мысли Иммануила Канта, выбранные Л. Н. Толстым" - новый вклад в копилку кантоведения. Книга издавалась на немецком языке. На русском в таком виде издается впервые. Одним из итогов многолетнего интенсивного изучения кантовской философии Л. Н. Толстым и ее популяризации явился сборник афоризмов И. Канта, подготовленный писателем в 1906 году и с тех пор ни разу не переиздававшийся на русском языке. В нем кёнигсбергский философ предстает как глубокий мыслитель, способный говорить о насущных экзистенциальных проблемах без использования специальной философской терминологии. По этой причине сборник доступен самому широкому кругу читателей даже без специальной философской подготовки. Издание дополнено предисловием, реконструирующим работу Толстого над афоризмами по архивным источникам, а также справочным аппаратом, в котором даны ссылки на немецкий оригинал и современный русский перевод публикуемых кантовских афоризмов.
