As Hong Kong's population continues to age and the proportion of the elderly in the population continues to rise, their connection with society is weak. Generally speaking, we may only concern about the material poverty of the elderly, but neglect their spiritual emptiness! The two interviewees in this episode are parishioners of St. Jude's Church, both of whom are the elderly living alone. One of them is a warrior in fighting against cancer, who trusts God with her will even when she was sick; the other one is a 92 year-old elderly and got baptized in last Easter. Apart from providing them with practical help, the parish also takes care of their spiritual needs and brings them physical care. The theme of the 8 episodes of the series = 8 special areas of concern of the Diocese : The elderly, Medical Staff & the Sick, Migrants and Refugees, Prisoners & those in recovery, the poor, youth, children & families and the creation. The Church celebrates the Jubilee Year with care for the world and to bring hope to the world. Let us be “Pilgrims of Hope”, to continue the spirit of the Diocese of Hong Kong, to stand shoulder to shoulder with the society.
