Charming family comedy directed by John Schultz that combines the love of basketball with a magical twist. The film stars Lil’ Bow Wow as Calvin Cambridge, a 14-year-old orphan who dreams of becoming a professional basketball player despite his small stature. 🎬 Like Mike (2002) Calvin’s life takes a dramatic turn when he discovers a pair of old sneakers with the faded initials “M.J.” written on them. After a freak accident causes the shoes to be struck by lightning, Calvin finds they have magical powers that give him the skills of basketball legend Michael Jordan. With his newfound abilities, Calvin hits the court for the Los Angeles Knights, proving that determination and a little bit of magic can go a long way. As Calvin navigates his sudden rise to fame, he must also deal with the pressures of his career, the schemes of adults trying to profit from his talent, and the challenges of living in an orphanage. Along the way, he forms valuable friendships with his teammates and learns important life lessons about teamwork, trust, and the true meaning of family.
