Video Description

October 29, 1955. Captain Second Rank Khurshudov of the Soviet Navy suddenly stumbles. The deck of the battleship Novorossiysk lurches violently beneath him as a deafening explosion rips through Sevastopol Harbor - the USSR’s most heavily-guarded naval base. Around Khurshudov, over 1,500 sailors frantically scramble through darkened corridors while damage control teams fight desperately to save their ship. But the water keeps rising. The massive vessel heaves downward at the bow, listing at an increasingly dangerous angle. Through the chaos of blaring alarms and shouting men, Khurshudov's mind races. Is this a tragic accident? An audacious declaration of war by NATO? Or has Novorossiysk’s sordid past come back to haunt her?
