Video Description

In the shadow of the Black Death, the Silk Road became both a conduit of devastation and a catalyst for transformation. Between 1346 and 1350, the plague spread from Central Asia into Europe, carried by merchants, caravans, and ships along ancient trade routes. These same routes - established as early as 1277 - once fueled the exchange of silk and ideas between China, the Middle East, and Europe. As death swept through cities, it exposed the fragility of civilizations while also spurring new developments in medical knowledge, public health, and spiritual life. From darkness, light emerged - reshaping societies across continents. #silkroad #china #history #documentary The Silk Road: The Ancient Superhighway That Connected the World https://youtu.be/p6r40oh5MlM ---- On Get.history, a free documentary streaming channel, you can explore historical mysteries, scientific breakthroughs, biographical content and untold stories from around the world.
