Hidden deep in the French countryside, a massive 35-meter-high medieval stone tower rises above the trees like something out of a fantasy film. At first glance, you’d never believe it was abandoned, but once we stepped through the gates, the truth became clear — no one has lived here for decades. Originally built in 1580 as a fortified keep, the castle was designed for defense during dangerous times. Over the centuries, it was transformed into a noble residence, with an L-shaped mansion added in the 16th and 17th centuries. Inside, history is perfectly preserved: gigantic fireplaces from the 1500s still warm the upper floors, and on the ground level sits a breathtaking dining room painted and carved in intricate troubadour style — a romantic masterpiece from another era. In the late 1800s, a wealthy landowner and writer named Bernard restored the property, rebuilding parts of the tower, adding 18th- and 19th-century woodwork, and creating a private salon and chapel. This became his personal sanctuary — a hidden world dedicated to art, literature, and history. But when Bernard passed away, the castle doors closed for good. Today, this forgotten French castle remains untouched, its 35-meter tower standing as a silent guardian over centuries of stories, waiting to be rediscovered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SOCIALS: TikTok ► https://www.tiktok.com/@brosofdecay Instagram ► https://www.instagram.com/brosofdecay/ Facebook ► https://www.facebook.com/Brothersofdecay/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Support us: Merch ► https://www.brosofdecay.com Patreon ► https://www.patreon.com/brosofdecay Paypal ► https://paypal.me/lesleyhouben #advertisement
