You do not sell your soul—no matter what. Everyone wants to believe they have some measure of influence over the events of life. No one welcomes chaotic surprises, yet they happen now more than ever. For all the external resources we gather to feel safe and protected, none are as powerful or reliable as trusting our own inner guidance—knowing how to make clear decisions, following through with them, and confronting the fears and illusions that hold us back. In this workshop, we will draw on the wisdom of four great Christian mystics—Ignatius Loyola, Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, and Saint Benedict—each of whom developed practices of spiritual direction to guide their students through the turmoil of life. They understood that external chaos generates immense inner conflict, and that the soul requires instruction and direction.
