Hundreds of National Guard troops arrived outside of Chicago on Tuesday, part of President Donald Trump’s high-profile effort to crack down on crime in America’s third-largest city. The deployment comes despite fierce resistance from Illinois leaders, who unsuccessfully sought to block the arrival in court. “Chicago is a great city where there’s a lot of crime,” Trump said on Tuesday. “And if the governor can’t do the job, we’ll do the job.” The order sent roughly 200 troops from Texas to reinforce federal agents, marking one of the largest domestic security deployments in years. Illinois Gov. J.B.
