I have seen their ITX motherboard before, but since this is MATX, I was curious to take a look at it. the 7945HX is seriously impressive in terms of raw performance, specially considering its a mobile part on a desktop board, but the IO configuration is extremely limited even compared to the smaller ITX version. It dominated when it comes to CPU benchmarks and performance, but when it comes to using it as a full computer, having only 4 USB ports on the back, with half of them being USB 2, I find it hard to really find a desktop use case for it. if you have a purely gaming system, you can work with those ports, especially since you do have USB headers on the board itself so if your case has front USB, you can make use of that. I, however, find the lack of USB-C to be a major deal breaker. not being able to hook up one of my USB-C docks and get more functionality out of this system is a real pain. It's a shame because it has better performance than my i9-12900k on my desktop, but the lack of USB ports makes it impossible to upgrade to. Yes, I know USB Hubs exist, but if you have ever worked with audio equipment and video equipment, it can be very finicky when it comes to running on a dock. not to mention having to share the limited bandwidth of these USB ports across an audio interface, a capture card, an external SSD, and a SD card reader. It just isn't the right option. I do find it interesting as a server motherboard though. The limited extensibility still really dampens that excitement as well. At least it comes with an iGPU so if you don't need a GPU in your setup, you do have a full 16x lanes of PCIe to work with for expandability, but that's all you really get. with only 2x M.2 and 2x Sata ports, it needs some kind of PCIe card for additional storage.
