If there’s a problem to solve, a tip or trick to make the work easier, or a part that needs to be installed in something that it was never intended to be installed on I’m your man! This channel is NOT about basic fabrication and machining skills for classic cars and other shop projects, it is however about problem solving for those applications and thinking outside the box. Can I weld? Yes. Are my welds gorgeous like a professional welder? No. Can I run lathe and mill? Absolutely. Are all the parts I make accurate down to .001”? Not usually. BUT I like improving things "building a bette mousetrap" and using what I have to do it and THAT is what this channel is about!

My PM1228 has tons of features however it lacks a hand crank on the leadscrew. Makes manual machining kind of hard to do on the main axis. There are lots a ways a person could fix this but most have shortcomings, the biggest of which is backlash. I had all but given up on this upgrade and then an idea came to me that is either crazy or brilliant: "Automation with manual control"
