Though just a child, I remember when the world's surface froze over. Wealthy and governing powers raced to build shelters deep underground to house the earth’s remaining survivors. Now, 27 years later, my family and I live in Station Duratus. Over the years, our scientific researchers have manufactured a limited number of suits that can barely withstand the outside temperatures. With over 300 residents, we are allotted one hour sessions, once per year, to suit up and go to the observatory lookout as a means of retaining hope for the people of Duratus. The remaining 23 hours of each day are used to repair the suit’s damage sustained from the freezing atmosphere of the surface, and prepare it for the next day’s lucky resident.
