About

Welcome to my channel, I Do Cars. Its an answer to the awkward question "So what do you do?". On my channel you'll find videos of the dumb and overzealous car projects I take on personally. You'll also find videos of getting cars running that are either wrecked, or have been sitting for a long time. There will be some how-to repair videos as well because showing people how to fix their vehicle themselves is what I love to do. Of course, you'll find engine teardown videos. Lots, and lots of engine teardown videos. One a week, at least. I own and run an auto salvage operation and part of our model is tearing down bad or core engines and selling the parts. Taking these engines apart is just another day in the office, so I'm happy to bring you along! Video Description

For parts visit www.Importapart.com or email us at [email protected] If you want to see Volvo Diag, there's only one channel to visit and that's @PineHollowAutoDiagnostics Today we are tearing down an engine that MANY people have been requesting for a long time. A Volvo 5-cylinder! This is the 2.5L B5254T5 out of a 2012 Volvo S60 T5. I don't know miles as I couldn't read the entire vin due to the extreme corrosion on the block. This engine was SIEZED, but was that why it was replaced? if it wasn't, what was the original reason? The Volvo modular engines have been around for a long time, this one makes 247hp and 266lbft of torque, and was only around for a few years. The design of these engines change throughout the generations but the overall architecture remains the same. Every week I teardown a new engine that has failed in some way in an attempt to figure out why it failed, what was the initial cause, and what parts survived. Here are a few of my favorites over the years: 8.0L Dodge Ram V10 WORST ONE EVER https://youtu.be/Ot-GbhaeaDw Volkwagen 2.5L Inline 5 https://youtu.be/bY6WNP1Z1HI 560hp BMW M5 V8 Teardown https://youtu.be/zKD5ubZ4Hvc 3.0L Duramax Diesel DESTROYED at 45K miles https://youtu.be/6C6xgZs9uUs Why am I doing this? My name is Eric and I own and run Importapart, a full service auto salvage business. Part of our model includes buying and dismantling blown and core engines. We salvage the good parts and recycle the rest. We don't rebuild engines, merely supply parts to those who do! 00:00 Summary 02:47 Trying, and failing to turn the engine over 04:32 Unbolting The intake manifold 06:22 Looking down the intake ports.
