The University of Notre Dame football team (9-2) delivered a record-breaking performance on Senior Day, defeating Syracuse (3-8) 70-7 in front of a sold-out Notre Dame Stadium. The Irish set a modern program record with 70 points, surpassing the 69 scored against Georgia Tech in 1977 and marking the most points by a Notre Dame team since 1932. The tone was set early as Notre Dame scored 35 points in the first quarter, the most in school history. Jalen Stroman led the early surge with a 44-yard interception return for a touchdown on the game’s second play, followed by a blocked punt that Luke Talich returned for another score. Leonard Moore added a 46-yard interception return for a touchdown before the Irish offense took the field. Once the offense joined in, Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price each broke loose for long touchdown runs of 45, 58, and 68 yards. Will Pauling, Aneyas Williams, and Kenny Minchey also found the end zone as the Irish extended their lead and closed out a dominant win.
